Destination Door County Releases 2021 Official Destination Guide
Destination Door County (DDC), the tourism marketing & management organization for Door County, is excited to announce the release of the 2021 Official Destination Guide ahead of National Plan For Vacation Day 2021.
One of the Midwest’s premier travel destinations offers a free destination guide to help aide visitors in planning a memorable trip to Door County. The 2021 edition has been reimagined and dedicates the first 30+ pages to engaging editorial content and breathtaking photography to show off the best of what the county has to offer. Informative stories and travel tidbits are scattered throughout the guide as well.
Detailed travel information can be found in special sections as well as business listings on the arts, history & culture, recreation, dining, shopping, lodging, services, group travel, event planning and profiles of the communities that make up Door County. The panoramic cover image of this year’s edition features the pier and North Pierhead Lighthouse at the entrance to the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal along Lake Michigan.
Visitors will also find helpful tips to plan visits during different times of the year in Door County, such as during blossom time in the spring. Learn about Door County’s new Leave No Trace 7 Principles for traveling responsibly, find out what unique foods are in Door County, get tips for rainy day activities and even learn why that special stretch of Hwy 42 in northern Door County is so curvy.
The Door County 2021 Official Destination Guide is the primary fulfillment piece mailed and distributed outside of the county to visitors requesting information by phone and online through Destination Door County’s web site, www.DoorCounty.com. 215,000 guides have been printed for distribution in 2021.
Guides can be found at visitor centers, travel agencies and other outlets in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. A digital version of the guide is available at DoorCounty.com and is great on mobile and tablet devices as well as desktop and laptop computers. Users can virtually flip through pages and will find hyperlinks and more about featured businesses and attractions.
Within the county, guides are distributed at the Door County Welcome Center, 1015 Green Bay Road in Sturgeon Bay, and at other community visitor centers throughout Door County. Local businesses are encouraged to make the complimentary 2021 guides available for their customers as well. The Paper Boy delivery service has begun distributing to area businesses and will continue delivery to businesses that are currently open over the next few weeks.
