Destination Door County Launches 2025 “Art in the Door” Contest highlighting Door County State Parks
May 15, 2025 – Door County, WI. Destination Door County (DDC) is proud to announce the 2025 “Art in the Door” contest, inviting Door County-based resident artists aged 15 and older to showcase their creative talent inspired by the natural beauty of Door County’s state parks.
The “Art in the Door” contest is seeking 2D artwork submissions depicting one of Door County’s iconic state parks, Newport, Peninsula, Potawatomi, Rock Island or Whitefish Dunes.
For the first time, this annual celebration of creativity is open to a broader age range, welcoming submissions from local artists as young as 15. Four grand prize winners will receive a $2,000 cash prize, a spotlight in DDC’s exclusive artist video series, and the opportunity to have their artwork featured across DDC’s marketing platforms.
Submissions are accepted until 11:59 PM CST on June 30, 2025, on DoorCounty.com/ArtInTheDoor. A panel of discerning judges will select eight finalists. Any finalist under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a consent form. Four grand prize winners will be selected through a public online vote.
“We’re thrilled to open this contest to a younger generation this year, “said Julie Gilbert, President/CEO of DDC. “In addition to our working resident artists, the students in our local art programs also have so much talent and we hope to see a variety of local artists, of all ages, submit their pieces.”
This is the third year of the Art in the Door contest. It has given Destination Door County a platform to highlight the amazing artists that find endless inspiration in Door County.
